Soc Son District (in Hanoi) has the best conditions for the development of medicinal plants grown using organic methods, which provides higher economic returns. In Bac Son Commune, the Soc Son Medicinal Plant Conservation and Development Cooperative, led by Director Ms. Nguyen Thanh Tuyen has expanded its cultivation area from 5 to 26 hectares since 2015. The cooperative cultivates valuable medicinal species such as Ligusticum wallichii (Xuyen Khung), Ardisia silvestris (Khoi Tia), Angelica dahurica (Bach Chi), Lycium barbarum (Ky Tu), and Sophora flavescens (Hoa Vang Pagoda). This cooperative provides training of cultivation and processing techniques, conducts quality control, and collaborates on scientific research to conserve and expand cultivation areas. In 2017, the product line “Soc Son Medicinal Materials” was trademarked through the Intellectual Property Office of Vietnam. This reputable cooperative contributes significantly to genetic resource conservation and local socio-economic development.
