Located in Thượng Lộc Commune, Can Loc District, Ha Tinh Province, Tra Son Thượng Lộc Agricultural Cooperative is the proud home of the famous “Xuan Hoa” crisp orange – a signature specialty of the Trà Sơn region. Renowned for its naturally sweet, fragrant, and uniquely crisp segments, this orange variety has become a symbol of local agricultural excellence. The journey began in 1996, when the founding family cultivated various fruit trees before discovering that oranges thrived best in the local soil and climate. Through years of grafting experiments and seedling production, they developed the distinct Thượng Lộc crisp orange. In 2010, local growers united to form a production group, which later became Tra Son Thượng Lộc Agricultural Cooperative in 2012, with the mission of collaborative, quality-focused, and innovative farming. From an initial 7 members, the cooperative has grown to 12 official members with 15 hectares of harvest-ready oranges and partnerships with 69 farming households across 7 communes, covering over 100 hectares. The cooperative has successfully brought the “Xuan Hoa” orange to national recognition through major trade fairs such as the Vietnam Craft Village Fair in Hanoi, the Vietnam–Cambodia International Trade Fair in Dak Nong, and the Ha Tinh Orange Festival. The name “Xuan Hoa” symbolizes both the spring harvest season – when golden ripe oranges fill the hills of Trà Sơn – and the harmony, prosperity, and happiness of local farming families. Beyond its delightful flavor, the brand represents community pride and the aspiration to expand from nationwide distribution to international export markets.
