Established in 2018, Quyet Thanh Moc Chau Agricultural Cooperative has quickly emerged as a trusted producer of high-quality dried fruits – most notably, its soft-dried persimmons, now a signature gift from the Moc Chau highlands. Free from preservatives and additives, these persimmons retain the color, texture, and flavor of freshly harvested fruit, and can be stored for up to 12 months. The best time to enjoy them is between August and December, the region’s main persimmon harvest season.
Deep Processing – A Key to Market Expansion
Understanding the challenges of selling fresh fruit in unstable markets, the cooperative has invested in deep-processing facilities, transforming seasonal fruits like banana, mango, papaya, plum, jackfruit, and persimmon into high-quality dried products. The fruits are naturally ripened, peeled, deseeded, sliced, and then dried using modern techniques.
With two electric dryers and one cold dryer (each processing up to 1.5 tons/day), the cooperative ensures its products are dried at optimal temperature and duration to preserve their natural sweetness and soft texture – without using added sugar or preservatives. This not only enhances value but also promotes local employment by utilizing idle labor in the community.
Quality Assurance & Branding
All raw materials are carefully selected from members' 8 hectares of fruit orchards and other local farms, with a growing number of producers being guided toward VietGAP-certified practices. Finished products undergo food safety testing, and are packaged with barcodes, labels, and brand logos to ensure traceability and consumer trust.
The cooperative’s soft-dried persimmon has been certified under the OCOP (One Commune One Product) program, while other dried fruits are being registered for trademarks and e-barcodes. Sales are expanding via e-commerce platforms, with bulk orders nationwide thanks to consistent quality and natural flavor.
Sustainable Development for Farmers and the Environment
Beyond processing, Quyet Thanh Cooperative actively supports local growers through training, input consultation, and contract farming schemes. Members and partner farmers are encouraged to grow fruit under standardized protocols, with the cooperative committing to stable off-take prices.
