Located in Tieu Xa village, Viet Hong commune, Thanh Ha district, Hai Duong province, the Tieu Xa Guava Production Group is a community-based agricultural unit specializing in guava cultivation under VietGAP standards with an orientation toward organic farming. It is recognized as one of the leading farmer groups in safe agricultural production, with members well-trained in cultivation, care, and harvesting techniques to ensure clean and high-quality guava. The group’s core activities include cultivating guava following strict VietGAP protocols—controlling fertilizer use, plant protection chemicals, irrigation water, and pre-harvest intervals—while gradually adopting organic practices such as avoiding herbicides and increasing the use of biological agents. All production activities are recorded in detail to enable full product traceability. With support from the district’s Agriculture Office and technical experts, members receive regular training on pest and disease control, flower and fruit setting techniques, post-harvest preservation, and QR code-based traceability. These practices have resulted in high-quality guava with attractive appearance, strong market demand, and reliable supply chains connecting to supermarkets and clean food stores. Beyond economic benefits, the group plays an important role in raising local awareness about safe farming, protecting the rural environment, and serving as a model for replication across the commune and district. Moving forward, it aims to expand guava production under VietGAP, build the Tieu Xa guava brand, explore eco-tourism opportunities in guava orchards, and participate in the provincial OCOP program.
