
According to the report of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the export turnover of agro-forestry-fishery products in the first eight months of 2025 reached USD 45.37 billion, an increase of 12% compared to the same period in 2024.
In August 2025 alone, the export turnover of agro-forestry-fishery products was estimated at USD 5.71 billion, down 3% compared to August 2024.
Within the more than USD 45 billion of exports of the above-mentioned group, the export value of agricultural products reached USD 24.42 billion, up 13.8%; the export value of livestock products reached USD 410.7 million, up 24.5%; the export value of fishery products reached USD 7.03 billion, up 11.5%; the export value of forestry products reached USD 11.9 billion, up 6.6%; the export value of production inputs reached USD 1.6 billion, up 30.4%; the export value of salt reached USD 7.1 million, doubling.
By territory, Asia is the largest export market for Vietnam’s agro-forestry-fishery products, accounting for 43.1% of the market share. The next two major markets are the Americas and Europe, with market shares of 23.2% and 14.6%, respectively. The shares of Africa and Oceania are smaller, at 3.1% and 1.3%, respectively.
Compared to the same period last year, the estimated export value of Vietnam’s agro-forestry-fishery products in the first eight months of 2025 to Asia increased by 1.2%; to the Americas increased by 10.6%; to Europe increased by 38.7%; to Africa doubled; and to Oceania increased by 2.8%.
The export of agro-forestry-fishery products in the first eight months of 2025 reached USD 45.37 billion.
By specific market, the United States is the leading export market, accounting for 20.9% of the share, followed by China with 19% and Japan with 7.1%. These are the three largest export markets for Vietnam’s agro-forestry-fishery products. Compared to the same period last year, the estimated export value of Vietnam’s agro-forestry-fishery products in the first eight months of 2025 to the United States increased by 8.1%, to China increased by 2.6%, and to Japan increased by 19.8%.
Among the commodities with the largest export value in the first eight months of 2025, wood and wood products ranked first, with an export value of USD 11.1 billion, up 6.3% compared to the same period in 2024. The United States is the largest consumer market, accounting for 56% of the share, followed by Japan (12.4%) and China (10.9%).
Fishery products ranked second, with an export value of USD 7.03 billion, up 11.5%. The largest consumer markets are China, the United States and Japan, accounting for 19.8%, 17.2% and 15.1%, respectively. Coffee is also a prominent export commodity, with an export value of USD 6.42 billion, up 59.1% compared to the same period last year, with Germany, Italy and Spain being the largest markets.
Assessing this result, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Phùng Đức Tiến affirmed that the agricultural sector is fully confident about the export prospects this year. From now until the end of 2025, the average export of agro-forestry-fishery products needs to reach USD 5 billion per month, so that in the remaining four months, we will achieve and exceed the annual export target of USD 65 billion.
